COLUMBIA, 9/30/11  (Beat Byte) --  Fortune Magazine has named a downtown Columbia coffee to its list of the nation's Best Small Coffee Makers.

Kaldi's Coffee comes in at #10, with seven locations in St. Louis and one in Columbia.  Kaldi's founders Howard Lerner and Suzanne Langlois sold the coffee company to the Zimmer family -- which owns a group of radio stations in Columbia, including The Eagle 93.9 KSSZ FM -- in 2007.
Kaldi's was one of only four Midwest brands to make the grade.  The East and West coasts claimed the most entries, with Bard Coffee in Maine topping the list.
