From Columbia to Laredo, a crime spree continues

COLUMBIA, 8/4/11  (Beat Byte) --  Three suspects in a Columbia bank robbery earlier this month fled Missouri for Texas, where they were charged in Waco and last seen in Laredo, FBI spokesman Erik Vacys has reported.

Jeffrey Brent Heckman, Jacob Thomas Norris, and Alexia Quentasha Baker were suspects in a July 8 armed robbery of Merchants and Farmers Bank in north Columbia, part of a crime spree that included Blythedale, Brookfield , and Hamilton, Missouri.   They were said to be traveling in a gold or green 2006 Buick Rendezvous SUV with Missouri plates, possibly with two Boston Terriers.

On July 11, one of the suspects walked into the Texell Federal Credit Union in Temple, Texas with a handgun demanding cash, then fled.  A federal complaint filed last week in Waco charges the three Columbia suspects in the Texas robbery.  The FBI's Vacys said the suspects may have gone to San Antonio and Laredo, heading toward the Mexico border.

In an unusual twist, the robbers always thanked bank cashiers who forked over the money with either a note or words.
