On
August 19, the controversial
Central Missouri Development Council executive director met with Boone County public administrator Cathy Richards and Hubbell Drive resident Mara Aruguete about BCFR purchasing
104 Hubbell Drive, a house the agency wants in addition to its
14 other area properties. Though she would not identify the parties, Richards confirmed the meeting.
In an August 24 letter to the North Central Columbia listserv, where Hubbell Drive resident Diana Howland questioned Stamper's involvement as both Board member and developer representative, Stamper confirmed BCFR "had a discussion with the person responsible for the property [at 104 Hubbell Drive] -- the office of the Boone County Public Administrator."
Stamper also said that while he has represented the agency as a licensed realtor, "I am not a member of the BCFR board.
Public record will confirm that I have in the past served on the board while an assigned member of the county commission and to fill a portion of an unexpired term created by an interim vacancy."
Then, in a widely-misspelled digression, Stamper criticized "bloggers" and listservs.
"In closing it goes with out saying that I am not a blogger nor am I a fan of un controled list serves, particulary when I am victimised by them," he wrote. "They many time’s are a conduit for unbrideled mis information and operate with unchecked accuracy.
"I have set as my personel goal not to participate in the game of misinformation or misleading the public, I completley understand how it is done and I choose not to be a part of it. I respectivley request that you not issue any further mis information or insunations on my behalf and that you correct what has been misstated. I am always available for any questions about my professional or volunteer involvements and I can be reached anytime @573-

ReplyThe public record shows that Stamper served 3 years on the BCFR board while NOT a member of the County Commission. Donnie's term on BCC ended in April 2002, but he served on BCFR's board 2/5/08 - 2/4/11. See http://www.showmeboone.com/clerk/minutespdf/2008/20080205.pdf, page 8.
how could something that big just vanish?!?!
ReplyUmmm... so and I understand it, it's some sort of conflict of interest to serve on both. [duh]
Reply... and even though he says he's only sort of stretched that [because of a temporary staffing issue]: we have an anonymous commenter who states that no such problem existed ACCORDING TO THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE. am I the only one dizzy here.
{I admit I don't understand the policy of who can work where enough to know when something is amiss}
Is there a regulation oversight committee or something. [not like the federal banking one though, please] [though maybe this seems LIKE the federal banking one]
Michael, thank you for all you do! as for the spelling - - I think it's de rigueur to not have to use one when ranting [and distracting when used as a platform for ridicule]
