CoMo CRIMINAL: Columbia man named Walters arrested for robbing Wal-Mart

 

COLUMBIA, 7/14/12 (Beat Byte) --  On the rise here for years, crime in Columbia may now be an export.  A Columbia man, Michael Walters, was arrested last month in Hannibal for robbing a Wal-Mart. 

 

Hannibal police charged Walters, 42, with robbery after leaving the Wal-Mart at 3650 Stardust Lane.   When Walters didn't pay for several items and employees tried to stop him as he left the store, Walters reached into his clothing and claimed he had a gun, a police spokesperson said.

 

Investigators cornered Walters and took him into custody after watching him emerge from a nearby wooded area.
